I Waited, But They Came

It took years,

it lasted for many weeping sunsets.

All I knew were tears of solitude and

empty smiles.

But I was always hopeful,

I knew the day would come…

But it really took years!

So for a while I got used to being alone.

But now there is so much fruit,

understanding and love,

companionship and laughs.

Now they’re every day in my life.

And I love my friends very much.
