Winter Notes

It forms a night,

a thin layer of ice that covers the sidewalks,

that hardens the grass

that whispers: I’m here to stay

It’s nature’s confetti,

crunchy and warm

dry and colorful,

a blanket of wishes which only dream is to fly

It’s brightness’ counterpart,

solid and deep

somber and oh so lasting!

But its glowing diamonds will guide you

until you find the light.
