Once I Was Asked What I Seek

What I seek is compassion,

calm, forgiveness and understanding.

I seek peace and long deep breaths,

silence without anxiety.

Memories of water and love;

images of solitude with your company.

Sometimes I feel I can reach it all;

I can smell the salt in the air.

There isn’t any fear or judgment.

I’m alone, but you are with me.

But then, I come back to reality

and I’m still seeking.

Nevertheless,  I won’t give up
