No More

Reality has eradicated my blindness,

My eyes can see because my heart has given up.

I truthfully taste the colours around me,

I’m blind no more.

Reality has defeated my dreaming,

I do not dream because imagining is not an option.

I see shattered hopes at noon and dawn,

I dream no more.

Reality has made a mockery of my tears,

My tongue speaks words of disappointment.

Salty bitter words come down from my breath,

I’m joyful no more.

Reality has made me into someone I don’t recognize,

Like Lorca would say “I’m not myself anymore…”

I wake up, I’m here and there, but really nowhere,

I’m me no more.
